Lisa Houston, ACS District IV Director

Dedicated to Serving the Needs of Chemists Through the American Chemical Society

I have been an active ACS volunteer for more than 25 years at all levels including Local Section, Division, Regional Meeting and ACS Governance.  My ACS experience and training sharpened my leadership skills, provided the opportunity to serve in increasing roles of responsibility and shaped my philosophy as a leader that will serve well as an ACS Board Member.  I also have had the great fortune to build strong relationships with other ACS volunteers and ACS staff that are invaluable in understanding issues, brainstorming possible solutions and applying them.

People that I have worked with have described me as:

  • Having a strong work ethic
  • Someone who meet commitments
  • Resourceful
  • Dedicated
  • A problem solver
  • Responsive to member needs
  • Caring and compassionate
